BCH is seeking Construction & Specialist Team Leaders to join the BCH Team! The Team Leaders, under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Client Services and Carrier Relations, will provide leadership and direction needed to build and maintain a strong interactive team environment, monitor team goals and manage workloads. Performance of duties and responsibilities are expected to meet or exceed the BCH service standards in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and leads strong team communication behaviors, including PTO, strategies for peak months, and policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and understands workloads by desk and recognizes the need for reallocation of accounts as needed.
  • Reviews and understands correct usage of workflows to identify improvement in the flow or training opportunities.
  • Tracks BCH position service standards.
  • Reviews individual team member audits for continuous improvement and training opportunities.
  • Service Account Manager responsibilities of daily service and renewal process for assigned accounts.
  • Assists, evaluates and monitors new employee training within the team.
  • Supervises the Construction | Specialist Team staff, evaluates employee performance, conducts growth and development meetings and makes recommendations for employee HR actions to Executive Vice President, Client Services and Carrier Relations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory duties include:
        • Responsible for guiding and directing the activities of team members to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
        • Provides training and development opportunities allowing team members to enhance their technical skills and competencies.
        • Responsible for establishing clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for the overall team that aligns with the organization’s overall values and culture.
        • Monitors and evaluates the performance of team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
        • Identifies and proactively addresses performance issues and provides recognition for achievements.
        • Intervenes and resolves conflicts and/or disputes that may arise among team members while maintaining a positive and productive work environment with an understanding of when to escalate.
        • Allocates resources including personnel, funds, and equipment to ensure that projects and tasks are completed on time and within budget.
        • Facilitates open communication channels between team members and management, ensuring that information flows effectively both ways.
        • Makes informed decisions related to team operations, resource allocation, and problem-solving to achieve organizational goals in line with the Agency’s values.
        • Responsible for ensuring team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
    • Ten years of insurance industry experience required.
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a commercial lines department with at least five of those years responsible for middle to large accounts.
    • A Solicitors License or Texas Agent’s License is required.
    • Currently holds, is in the process of obtaining, and/or is committed to obtaining an insurance designation such as CIC or CPCU.
    • Preferably holds ACSR or CISR designation.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.
