Summary:
BCH is searching for a talented IT professional to join the BCH Team! Our Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for responding professionally and timely to internal help desk requests. To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude and the ability to give clear technical instructions. You will be responsible for supporting a variety of applications and network devices. This includes provisioning accounts for software applications, system access, and other day-to-day Help Desk requests.

This is an overall IT position — it is not a networking, security, hardware, or software-specific role, but a hands-on opportunity to work in all areas of IT. This role provides an entry-level IT professional a chance to learn many IT disciplines, with plenty of room for growth.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline OR have equivalent experience OR technical training with at least 1-3 years of professional experience in an IT role. Insurance Industry experience is a big plus but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide application support to employees by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding them through corrective steps. When required, designing simple queries and applications to complete their request.
  • Provide technical support to employees by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workspace performance
  • Configure hardware and software
  • Maintain working components through repair or replacement
  • Inventory Tracking
  • Create technical documentation and manuals
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Exercise good judgment to ascertain the level of urgency of issues and requests presented

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline OR equivalent experience OR technical training with at least 1-3 years of professional experience in an IT role.
  • Help Desk Experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with databases (Microsoft SQL and Access preferred)
  • Experience with Visual Basic Programming preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
