Everyone enjoys a bit of recognition, and it’s likely to help them continue the trend.

When employees have even a general knowledge of some of the tasks that lie outside their traditional work, it helps everything run more smoothly. They’re more likely to have answers to client questions, for instance, which instills confidence in the client that they’re working with a knowledgeable bunch. There are tangible benefits, too. That added ability means folks on the team will be able to take care of minor tasks when others are in meetings, on sick leave or taking vacation. In other words, fewer delays — and a more streamlined day-to-day.
