BCH is in search of a talented Insurance Agency Professional to join the BCH Team! As the Director of Agency Programs, you will lead BCH program teams, overseeing program policies, procedure, product development and key relationships. The successful candidate will develop complex strategies, define objectives, and establish specific priorities. The person in this role will be able to package insurance products and services, identify inconsistencies and realign objectives to meet the needs of our clients and BCH. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop and expand revenue generating programs.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet program service standards, as well as productivity and quality control goals.
  • Monitor program productivity and profitability through workload data and activity reports.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and measure program policies and procedures, including service standards.
  • Continuously monitor policy form language, market trends and emerging coverages for potential program updates and opportunities that further enhance program coverage(s).
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with key carriers and brokers.
  • Oversee select program accounts, serving in an Account Management capacity.
  • Communicate instructions, updates and monitor remote staff as required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain program template documents.
  • Oversee Risk Purchasing Group(s).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide support, mentorship, and guidance to program staff members.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the program teams.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and workload of program team members.
  • Conduct growth and development reviews for team members.
  • Recommend education and training opportunities for team development.
  • Evaluate team performance and staffing, developing action plans as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Insurance Industry Software
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent management abilities, including leadership, facilitation, motivation, and organization.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Quick learning ability and adeptness at creative problem-solving.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building with BCH staff, clients and insurance providers.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Solicitors License or Texas Agent’s License required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial lines insurance, preferably in an Account Manager or Executive role.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management position preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the independent agency system.
  • Proven experience in developing revenue-generating programs.
  • Technical proficiency in Crime, Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Excess Liability, General Liability, Property, and Workers’ Compensation lines of business.
  • Currently holds, is in the process of obtaining and or is committed to obtaining a CIC, CPCU or CRM designation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
