BCH is seeking a Receptionist with strong communication and organizational skills to join our administrative team in Houston! As the first point of contact, the ideal candidate plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for BCH clients, visitors and guests. Under the guidance of the Director of First Impressions, the Receptionist will operate the agency switchboard, manage office mail systems and perform various administrative tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients, visitors and guests; determine the purpose of each person’s visit and direct or escort him or her to the appropriate location.
  • Operate agency switchboard as needed. Answer, screen and direct phone calls to staff. Take messages and schedule appointments.
  • Manage office mail systems. Receive mail, documents and packages, and manage courier delivery vendors.
  • Send cards and flowers to employees, clients, carriers and vendors.
  • Maintain reception desk processes handbook.
  • Maintain BCH welcome boards.
  • Perform administrative and clerical support tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
